Jason Berkebile, O.D.
Dr. Berkebile provides comprehensive eye care, with a focus on the diagnosis & management of ocular disease. His excellent diagnostic skills and attention to detail ensures his patients receive proper and timely treatment. He has extensive experience in the treatment of glaucoma and dry eye disease, diabetic eye evaluations, and the co-management of cataract and LASIK surgeries.
Education: Dr. Berkebile completed his undergraduate work at the University of Pittsburgh where he received a bachelor's degree in biology. He then went on to receive his doctorate in optometry from Nova Southeastern University in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. During his time there he was selected to participate in the specialized Glaucoma and Ocular Disease Clinic. He also completed an externship in ocular disease at the Braverman Eye Center where he was named Extern of the Year.
Professional: Dr. Berkebile was the Lead Optometrist at an ophthalmology practice with offices in Matthews and Monroe from 2009 until 2020. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, North Carolina Optometric Society and Piedmont Optometric Society.
Personal Background: Dr. Berkebile is a native of western Pennsylvania and now resides in the Matthews area with his wife, daughter, and 2 dogs. When not seeing patients he enjoys spending time with his family and cheering on Pittsburgh sports teams.
